Market strong despite numbers almost doubling

Friday 20th September

An expected yarding of 6000 cattle today fell short with several big lots of both steers and heifers withdrawn due to wet weather. However,  it was still a big sale with just under 4500 cattle going under the hammer in what most described as a much dearer market. Bolstering the numbers was a draft of 600 British and Euro x mixed sex weaners through Nutrien with the steers selling to $920 and averaging $490. The heifers sold to $840 and averaged $545.
