Murrumbo backs up for another year

FRIDAY 31 MAY

For the second year running Murrumbo Partnership, Bylong chose TRLX as their preferred selling option with a consignment of 525 Angus and Angus x mixed sex, predominantly weaners, sold through Ian Morgan Livestock. They were described as “an outstanding line of vendor-bred weaners, renowned doing cattle, packed with hybrid vigour and genuine performance.” They were backed with some impressive genetics, out of Murrumbo Poll Hereford cows by Eaglehawk Angus, 3R and Trio Angus bulls.

Selling agent, Ben Goodman said the cattle came with “our highest recommendation” and it was an outstanding sale with the heifers performing better than the steers. The steers sold to $1390 for the yearlings and $1120 for the weaners and averaged $1056. The heifers sold to $1400 for the yearlings to top the category today, $1020 for the weaners and averaged $850.

Overall today, the best steers made $1440, a limited offering of cows and calves sold to $1800 for Hereford x cows and calves and rising 4 yr old Angus cows, PTIC to Eaglehawk bulls topped the category at $1575.
