Perfectly timed downpour fires up market

Monday 5th August

The prediction for rain rang true just as the weekly sale started today but failed to dampen the market with the first pen of the sale making $250 and the market only going up from there.  A magic pen of suckers made $226, and the best heavy lambs (pictured) made $262 in a market quoted by the National Livestock Reporting Service as dearer for the well finished classes. Market trends were also dearer in the sheep, particularly for the Merinos and heavy and extra heavy sheep.

380 advertised Poll Dorset x Merino suckers out of large western frame ewes, by Abelene Park rams, sold by DC on account North Ningle made $156 for the first draft of 50 head, $143 for the next 219 head.

Elders Tamworth sold the top pen of lambs on account Ingall Fairview Partnership
